Maa te moohio ka maarama!
Become empowered to make changes through support and understanding

Our Maareikura pathway to safety and wellbeing for waahine includes:

  • Waananga (programmes) focused on increasing understanding of harm in whaanau, risky situations, and the importance of safety planning.

  • Mauri tuu (specialist advice) about accessing protection and support from different agencies.

  • Kaitiaki (advocates) who will provide support and work alongside you on your journey.

Education and thoughtful planning are essential steps towards becoming free from violent relationships. Building a strong support system ensures that you are not alone on this journey.

Waananga wahine
(Women's programmes)

Our waananga offer waahine opportunities to:

  • Recognise abusive behaviour.

  • Explore the causes and effects of living with violence.

  • Understand the impact of violence on children and whaanau.

  • Prioritise personal, child, and whaanau safety.

  • Understand the causes of abuse and harm.

  • Rebuild their lives and move forward with confidence.

Additionally, waananga focus on reconnecting with whakapapa (genealogy) and strengthening whanaungatanga (relationships and friendships).

Our kaimahi encourage participants to explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, fostering restoration of mana and accountability.
